Item is a hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no HDD included. Because we stock large quantities, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is supplied for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before ordering, verify that a replacement board will resolve your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide and confirm compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM (memory) chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If physical chip transfer is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the move. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
