This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before buying, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs hold unique data in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; that ROM or its contents must be moved or copied to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually transplant the chip. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
