Product is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is NOT included. Because we have a large supply of these PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This replacement PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before ordering, confirm that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs store unique information in the ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or programming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
