This listing is for the hard drive circuit board / logic board (PCB) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock large quantities, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended purpose: data recovery and hard drive repair. Important: most WD PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in the ROM "memory" chip. That ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly, so the ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant.
