This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive, enclosure, or mechanical parts are included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair and data-recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB can resolve your problem by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility via the Donor Matching Guide. Most PCBs store unique drive-specific data in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function properly. The ROM chip or its contents must therefore be transferred to the replacement board or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If you are uncomfortable performing the transfer, a local computer technician can usually move the chip. For customers with orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
