This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we have a large quantity of PCBs in stock, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will address your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide. Verify compatibility by consulting the Donor Matching Guide. Important: most WD PCBs store unique parameters in the ROM "memory" chip, and that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. Customers with orders of $60 or more qualify for our complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
