This sale is for the hard drive circuit board only (PCB / logic board). No hard drive is included. Because we keep a large inventory of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Designed for use in data recovery and hard drive repair, this PCB is intended as a replacement board for compatible WD drives. To confirm a replacement board will resolve your issue, please use our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM (memory) chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; the ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transferring the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
