This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of these boards, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for HDD repair or data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your problem by following our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique, model-specific data in the ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either relocating the ROM chip onto your new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
