Item is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock large quantities, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the board will resolve your issue by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
