Item includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock large quantities, the PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive Diagnostics Guide and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Many PCBs store unique configuration data in the ROM (memory) chip; that ROM content is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be moved to the replacement board or the new PCB must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If you cannot perform a chip transplant yourself, a local computer professional can usually complete the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or reprogramming the new board with the proper ROM data.
