Because we stock a large number of boards, the PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photos. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Important: most hard drive circuit boards store unique configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip. That ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly and must be transferred to the replacement board or the new board reprogrammed with the correct ROM contents. If it is possible to physically transplant the ROM chip, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the board with the proper ROM data.
