Item is for the hard drive circuit board / logic board only — no HDD is included. We stock a large number of these PCBs, so the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This replacement PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, verify that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs contain unique data stored in the ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
