Product is the hard drive circuit board only (PCB / logic board). The actual hard drive is not included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the PCB you receive may vary slightly from the photo. This board is intended for drive repair and data recovery tasks. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will address your issue by using our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide, and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive circuit boards hold unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip itself or its data must be transferred to the replacement PCB. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip onto the new board or reprograms the replacement PCB with the correct ROM data.
