This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the unit you receive may differ slightly in appearance from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD circuit boards store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM memory chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be migrated or programmed onto the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer repair technician should be able to move the chip. For customers with orders of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
