The board you receive may look slightly different from the photo because we stock many PCBs. It is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery. Most WD boards hold unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM chip. The chip or its contents must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board for the drive to work correctly. If you cannot do the transfer, a local computer repair technician should be able to move the chip. For orders of $60 or more, we offer complimentary adaptation: transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or programming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
