This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we ship from a large stock, the specific PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Most PCBs store unique drive-specific data in the ROM ("memory") chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be moved to the replacement board or reprogrammed onto it. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually handle the chip transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either soldering the ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or reprogramming the board with the correct ROM data.
