This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we keep a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These boards are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before buying, verify that a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD SATA PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board — if the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either relocating the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
