Product is the hard drive PCB / logic board only — the hard drive is NOT included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photograph. This circuit board is intended for use in hard drive repair and data-recovery situations. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service: we will either move the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
