This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB is likely to resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verifying compatibility via the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs store unique factory data in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM content is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
