This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no complete hard drive is included. Because we stock these PCBs in large quantities, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is supplied for hard drive repair and data-recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will address your drive’s problem by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs house unique information stored in the ROM “memory” chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If physical relocation of the chip is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the new circuit board with the correct ROM data.
