Product is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive is NOT included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. To confirm a replacement board will solve your issue, follow our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate properly. The ROM chip itself or its data must be moved to or programmed into the new circuit board. If the ROM chip can be transferred physically, a local computer technician can usually perform the procedure. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the replacement PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
