This sale is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip, or its contents, must be transferred to the replacement board. If a chip transplant is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the soldering or chip transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
