This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are intended for HDD repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive circuit boards contain unique information stored in the ROM ("memory") chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — we will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
