This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / Logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data-recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your issue by following our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself or its contents must be transferred to the replacement circuit board. If you cannot move the chip yourself, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service: either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
