This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — no hard drive is included. The actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo because multiple, similar boards are in stock. Intended use: data recovery or hard drive repair. Most of these PCBs contain unique firmware data stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto your new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
