This listing includes only the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board). No hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery or repair of compatible WD 3.5" SATA drives. Important technical note: most PCBs store unique drive-specific data in the ROM memory chip. That ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly, so the ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform that transfer. Service options: for orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
