This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Before ordering, verify that a replacement PCB is likely to resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Important: most WD PCBs store unique drive information in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers with orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
