This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. To confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your issue, please follow our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most PCBs store unique information in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for correct drive operation; that chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If physical chip transplant is possible, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
