This listing is for a hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is NOT included. Because we have a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These boards are sold for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique information in the ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board — if the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the swap. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
