Product is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive is not included. Because we stock large quantities, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery situations. Before ordering, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many PCBs store unique firmware data on a ROM “memory” chip; this information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or programming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
