Product consists of the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we maintain a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks. Before purchasing, confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive circuit boards store unique configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for correct operation. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
