This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual unit you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for HDD repair or data recovery work. To confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your problem, follow our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD hard drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM information is required for proper operation. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board — if the ROM can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For purchases of $60 or more we include complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
