This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may look slightly different from the photo. These PCBs are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery applications. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verifying compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive PCBs store unique configuration data in a ROM “memory” chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. You must either transplant the ROM chip to the replacement board or have the ROM data programmed onto the new PCB. If you don’t have the tools, a local computer technician can usually perform the chip transplant. For customers who spend $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes moving the ROM chip or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
