This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we have a large inventory, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended uses: data recovery and hard drive repair. Before purchasing, confirm that replacing the PCB will resolve your drive issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD circuit boards include unique information stored in the ROM "memory" chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; that ROM or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant; alternatively, the ROM data can be reprogrammed onto the new PCB. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the board with the correct ROM data.
