This item is the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Due to our large stock, the actual PCB shipped may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. To confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your issue, follow our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs carry unique data in the ROM ("memory") chip; that information is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip, or its stored data, must be moved to or programmed onto the replacement circuit board. If the chip can be transferred, a local computer technician can usually perform the task. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
