This listing includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of boards, the exact PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before purchasing, verify whether a replacement PCB will fix your drive by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs store unique settings in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually move the chip for you. For purchases of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new circuit board with the correct ROM data.
