Product includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair and data recovery. Before purchasing, verify that replacing the PCB will address your problem by consulting our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide and confirm compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique drive-specific data in a ROM chip; that ROM content is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board (or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data). If moving the chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
