This listing is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery tasks. Most hard drive circuit boards hold unique configuration data in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself or its data must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement circuit board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers with a purchase of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either relocating the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
