This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock these PCBs in large quantities, the exact board you receive may look slightly different from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Most hard drive circuit boards store unique information in the ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for proper drive operation. The ROM chip itself, or its data, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician should be able to perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
