This listing is for a hard drive circuit board (PCB, Logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock large quantities, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery or hard drive repair. Many hard drive PCBs store unique information in a ROM ("memory") chip that is required for the drive to function. That ROM chip — or its data — must be transferred or programmed onto the replacement board. If the ROM can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service: we will either transplant the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
