This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks, this PCB should be used only after confirming compatibility. Most drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data on a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved or programmed onto the replacement board. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually perform the chip transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either physically moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
