This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: replacement for hard drive repair or data recovery tasks. Important: many PCBs store unique configuration data in the ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved to the replacement board, or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If you are not comfortable performing the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can usually transplant the chip.
