This sale is for the hard drive PCB / logic board only — the HDD itself is NOT included. Because we stock a large number of these boards, the actual PCB you receive may vary slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs contain unique calibration and configuration data stored in a ROM memory chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip (or its data) must be transferred or reprogrammed onto the replacement board. If transfer is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the chip transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
