Item is for the hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — hard drive is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is supplied for hard drive repair and data recovery purposes. Before ordering, confirm that a replacement PCB will address your issue by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs store unique information in the ROM (memory) chip; that data is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot perform this yourself, a local computer technician can usually transplant the chip or handle the reprogramming. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
