This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB/logic board) ONLY — the drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or for data-recovery operations. Before ordering, confirm that replacing the PCB is the correct fix by following our hard drive diagnostics guide. Also verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many HDD PCBs store critical, unique data in a ROM memory chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved to the replacement board or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data. If you cannot perform the transfer yourself, a local computer technician can often solder or transplant the chip. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement with the proper ROM data.
