This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair tasks. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement PCB is appropriate by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and checking compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD hard drive PCBs store essential, unique data in a ROM "memory" chip; this information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
