This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for use in data recovery and hard drive repair, this replacement PCB should be verified for compatibility before use. Many WD PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in the ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board — if the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer.
