This sale is for the hard drive PCB (logic board) ONLY — the actual hard drive is not included. Because we carry a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may vary slightly from the photo. Intended for use in data recovery or hard drive repair, this board can replace a faulty controller board when compatible. Before ordering, use our hard drive Diagnostics Guide to confirm that a PCB replacement is likely to resolve your issue, and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive PCBs store unique calibration and configuration data in a ROM ("memory") chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself or its data must be transferred to the replacement board — if the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
