This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock large quantities, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for HDD repair and data recovery, this PCB is a replacement part for WD SATA 3.5 drives and should be used with proper diagnostics and donor matching. Most hard drive circuit boards contain unique data stored in a ROM "memory" chip that is required for correct operation. That ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board; if the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transferring the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
