This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended uses: data recovery and hard drive repair. Most drive PCBs store critical configuration in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function properly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be transferred to the replacement board. If transfer is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the chip transplant. For customers who spend $60 or more, we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
