Listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY. No hard drive is included! We keep a large inventory of PCBs, so the exact board shipped may vary slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery use. Many WD PCBs contain unique configuration stored in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data is required for correct drive operation. The ROM chip itself or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If transplanting the chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the task. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
